Update on Sunshine Station Redevelopment

The animated ‘fly-through’ of the new Sunshine train station, as referenced in this post, has now been published by Regional Rail Link (RRL).

So – what do you think?  It gives some idea of the design but the sudden cuts make it hard to get an overall picture.   To me it looks pretty generic….. similar to Footscray station with lots of stark white cement.

I am happy to see the inclusion of ramps (albeit long ones) as an alternative to the stairs and the likely-to-be-vandalised lifts.  I can’t tell how much parking there will be but it definitely appears to be less than was there.

There seems to be no intent to publish any detailed, to-scale drawings of the plans but I have confirmation from RRL that the heritage signal box will not be affected by the station redevelopment.
