Gentrification could take a while…

Seen a few things these last few weeks that reconfirm for me that the Sunshine area is definitely just into the first stage of gentrification.

Exhibit No. 1

I did wonder if supermarkets in Yarraville or Williamstown were also highlighting a Spam sale……

Exhibit No. 2

I’ve only lived in Melbourne for 10 years but I’ve seen a circus in the suburbs twice – both times in this car park in Sunshine. Personally, I like it (no animals!) but it is pretty old school.

Exhibit No. 3

Rubbish dumping – people really don’t give a shit – as long as it’s off their property and they didn’t have to pay anything – they don’t seem to care how the rest of the suburb looks.

Still not gentrified – thank God for that!

Funnily, there’s sometimes still a Silvers Circus in Burnley amongst the 4WDs isn’t there?

  2. Tangerine says:

But maybe the Spam is excess stock because Sunshine is gentrifying?!

(P.S. I found you by Googling “Sunshine topiary”)

  3. Skippy says:

Heh! I like your thinking Tangerine. Following that theory, I’ll keep my eye out for discounts on frozen pizza pockets, two-minute noodles and Bundy rum.
