Sunshine 2032

I saw an interesting exhibition in Sunshine Plaza today.

As part of the Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab (Veil), a number of landscape architecture design projects are on display at Sunshine Plaza until Sunday 17th June 2012.

Sunshine Plaza actually donated this space for students to work in so that they could eat, live and explore Sunshine as they designed projects envisioning a sustainable future for the area.

There are some very interesting ideas explored here.  What do you think about the Hampshire Road overpass catering for buses only on one side and bicycles/pedestrians on the other? Or wind turbines and a garden over the top of Sunshine train station? What about an Albion Arts and Cultural Centre that co-locates a gallery and theatre with the train station?

Plenty of thought provoking concepts here to explore. Unfortunately, not long to see them.

Edited to add:  Several of the designs are available to view on-line.
