Being fairly new to this whole ‘blogging’ thing, I have only just discovered what you can learn from the blog statistics provided by WordPress.
My favourite is the search terms tool. Essentially, it shows what people typed into Google that brought up a link to your blog, which they then clicked on.
Here’s a recent summarized list, in descending order of occurrence, with my favourites in green:
scumshine 72
sunshine plaza 69
unknown 34
doormat 27
brick fence 23
gentrification pros and cons 16
sunshine train station 13
sunshine gentrification 12
topiary 11
telmo languiller 8
kororoit creek /yabbies 7
average front fence prices 7
ethiopian fencing 6
cement chicken 5
metro trains 5
scumshine architecture 4
valadilene 3
sunshine 3020 graffiti 3
3020 worst suburb in melb. 3
bad things about sunshine 2
What have I learned from this?
- I guess it demonstrates that people are definitely still using the moniker of Scumshine for the area….
- many more people than I would suspect search the internet about doormats
- people do go yabbying in Kororoit creek (but further upstream where it’s much cleaner)
- the Sunshine Plaza website must be leaving people sadly wanting……
So…. nothing useful, really but enough laughs to check it again in the future.
A lot of people are probably searching for Scumshine because they know of your site but are using Google to find it. No idea about doormat though!
Cement chicken?
I know! Cement chicken is my favourite!
